About Us

It has been long awaited and, at last, we have a date...welcome to the new Vins Du Monde website. We have devoted a lot of time to this project in order to achieve our objective: to take you on a tour of the world's vineyards. You will travel, you will discover, and you will learn. Our goal is not merely to offer you a selection of wines, but it is to enable you to share our passion of wines. You will discover each country, each region and each domain. The other attraction of this site is its role in advice, as we well know it is easy to lose oneself in the maze of the market of wines. Thanks to the commentaries accompanying the wines, you will have a more precise idea of each wine, which we will make your choice easier. But the real novelty is in the sales aspect of our site. In effect it will now be possible to buy your wines on line. There is a section specifically dedicated for professional clients. Different headings are at your disposal that will inform you of the events linked with Vins Du Monde. You can also find the details of some establishments carrying our products. Vins Du Monde has been in existence for 11 years and specialises in importing directly from the world's wine producers. Vins Du Monde's objective is to devote our sales to: - the professional world of wine; restaurants, wine shops, organisers of events etc - wine connoisseurs. A selection made by ‘hard to please' Claude Gilois Wine lover and holder of the English wine diploma from the Wine & Spirit Education Trust, it was in London that our selector gained his knowledge of the great French and non-French wines, by taking part in a great many tastings of top wines. His criteria in the selection of wines are very rigorous. Most of the wines selected are highly rated by critics, others are personal favourites, good value for money, or wines typical of the region/country, that he tastes on his many visits to domains worldwide, and meetings with the winemakers. He also tastes the top French wines in each vintage. Quality at all levels All the wines are sourced directly from the producers, being transported by sea in containers of 1000 cases in periods between seasons to avoid the risk of temperature shock when crossing the equator. Once on French territory the wines are received, checked, put through customs and then stocked in optimal air-conditioned warehouses at Pool Logistics in Meursault who also prepare and send out the orders. Transport of the wines to our clients is entrusted to two transporters; it is secure and adapted to the size of the order. - The first deals with orders of small quantities - The second deals with orders of 36 bottles or more which require palettes Delivery time is about one week from the date of order. Our team Claude GILOIS Our selector Elizabeth GILOIS Accountant and administrator Eric MORLOT Wine lover, holder of the diploma Master de l'OIV (Office International de la Vigne de du Vin) he has visited more than 400 domains in 17 wine growing countries; he has tasted several thousand wines of various origins. He joined Vins Du Monde in 1999 and is now commercial director; he also takes part in the selection of the wines and the development of the business. Stéphane CHARREYRON After studying and gaining his degree at ISARA in Lyon, he joined the Vins Du Monde team in 2000. For him wine is a passion, and he is in charge of all marketing of Vins Du Monde. Solène BURCKEL Solène is in charge of the most stressful activity of the company, international and national logistics, and does her utmost so that all of our wines might be immediately available in our Meursault warehouses. Aurélia TERRIEN Joined Vins Du Monde in 2004, she has the hard task of supporting the commercial team, processing orders and co-ordinating transport with our warehouse.
